Prime Minister Imran Khan calls for lifting transport ban


ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday worried after inspecting the extraordinary advances taken by the areas to contain the spread of coronavirus as these would affect the economy radically. 

Tending to the parliamentary pioneers' meeting in Islamabad, PM Imran called for lifting the prohibition on transport and said this would seriously influence the stockpile of fundamental things in the nation. 

'Gilgit-Baltistan is confronting fuel deficiency and yesterday supply from the port was halted because of lockdown in Karachi and we needed to make important strides right now,' PM said. 

He included there was no priority in the realm of such a lockdown. 

'The government can not do this by itself; we must have a national reaction to battle the pestilence,' the head said. 

Mentioning the political administration of the nation to give their info and recommendations, the executive stated, 'We have a gathering of National Coordination Committee tomorrow where we will survey the circumstance emerging after the lockdown.' 

'There are different degrees of lockdown and check-in time is the last stage,' the chief stated, including that his anxiety was the poor area of the general public which will endure the worst part of such measures. 

'Sindh was the primary area which declared it is forcing a lockdown and afterward under tension from media, the various areas and Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu Kashmir went with the same pattern,' PM Imran said.
