Police in Texas captured an 18 year old teenager girl they dreaded was "determinedly spreading" COVID-19 after she posted a progression of Snapchat recordings in which she said she tried constructive for the infection.
Officials in Carrollton, Texas, close to Dallas, captured Lorraine Maradiaga on Tuesday, days after her recordings surfaced on the web, police said in an announcement gave to Insider.
While Maradiaga has since said she tried negative for COVID-19, police say she's confronting a charge of making a terroristic risk — a third-degree lawful offense — in light of Snapchat recordings in which she said she was sure.
Carrollton Police representative Jolene DeVito disclosed to NBC News that authorities got mindful of the Snapchat recordings on Saturday after social average clients began labeling the police division in posts highlighting the clasps.
DeVito told the outlet one of the recordings was accepted to have been taken at a COVID-19 drive-through testing site, where a social insurance laborer can be heard advising Maradiaga to hang tight for her test results at home.
A subsequent video seems to show Maradiaga in a store.
DeVito said Maradiaga can be heard saying: "I'm here at Walmart going to invade each mother - er in such a case that I'm going down, all you mother - ers are going down."
She said a third video indicated Maradiaga hacking in a vehicle, and a fourth demonstrated the high schooler telling watchers: "In the event that you need to get the coronavirus and f - ing die, call me. I'll get you together and I will abbreviate your life."
Police said in an announcement seen by Insider that Maradiaga gave up on Tuesday morning. Authorities state Maradiaga revealed to them she really tried negative for the infection.
She is being held at Denton County Jail in Denton, Texas, and was requested to isolate for 21 days after she's discharged from the authority on the off chance that she posts her $20,000 bond.
