Legendary Bollywood Choreographer Saroj Khan Passes Away at Age 71

Bollywood choreographer Saroj Khan passed away as a result of a heart attack on Thursday she was 71 years old. Khan had complained of shortness of breath last month, after which she was admitted to Guru Nanak Hospital in Mumbai.

When she was first admitted to the hospital in the last week of June, she underwent a COVID-19 test, which turned out to be negative. Khan, one of the most famous choreographers in the Hindi film industry, named Shots in more than 2000 songs spanning three and a half decades.

Although Khan started in the early seventies, she really became a household name from the mid to late eighties, featuring dances first for Sridevi and then for Madhuri Dixit.

Khan started choreographing the 1974 film Geeta Meera. He directed songs from the Tamil film Thai Vedo in 1983 and also acted in Subhash Ghai's super hit hero the same year.

It was the Nigina 1986 film that made her a household name. Sridevi's famous dance  in that film 'Main Naagin Tu Sapera' is still a popular to this day

The following year, her choreography for Mr. Sridevi in India, especially his song Hawaa Hawaaihas has since grown in popularity.

Khan also gave Madhuri Dixit his most famous films, including 'Ek Do Teen Tezaab', and 'Dhak Beta' and many others.

Recently, Khan has been choosing to sign new projects. Her recent works include the choreography of 'Kangana Ranaut at Manikarnika' last year and the 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns' in 2015. Her last big responsibility has been directing Madhuri's move in last year's release, Kalank.

Born in 1948, Khan made her film debut as a child actor in the 1950s as a backup dancer at the age of three.
