Police Force from the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Tuesday sieges the residence of PML-N president Shahbaz Sharif in Lahore.
The anti-corruption team, accompanied by a heavy contingent of police, reached the opposition leader at the National Assembly residence in Model Town to arrest him after he failed to appear before anti-corruption watchdogs for more than a dozen assets.
The development came a day after Shahbaz, after appealing to the Lahore High Court (LHC), sought bail before appearing before the NAB's Joint Investigation Team (JIT) in the Punjab capital. ۔
After more than an hour, the anti-corruption watchdog team has left the PML-N leader's residence empty-handed.
Sources said that Shahbaz was not at his residence in Model Town, Lahore and now two other teams have gone to his residence in Jati Umra and DHA to search for him.

Reacting to the raid, PML-N spokesperson Maryam Aurangzeb said the NAB's action was part of a nefarious agenda to politically oppress opposition parties and the "Imran-NAB" alliance.
He said that when Shahbaz's bail application was fixed for hearing in the Lahore High Court yesterday (June 3), the NAB team raided his residence at the behest of Prime Minister Imran Khan. 'Despite the threat of coronavirus, Shahbaz Sharif appeared before the NAB and answered their questionnaires.'
The spokesman also said that curfew has been imposed in Model Town and police charged batons at PML-N workers.
