Prime Minister Imran Khan gives approval to resume International Flights

Pakistan is set to resume international flight operations after approval by Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday.

According to sources, the issue of resumption of international flights was discussed at the meeting of the Federal Cabinet where Zulfi Bukhari, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Overseas Pakistanis, briefed the members on the difficulties and hardships faced by Pakistanis abroad. What

Giving green light to the resumption of international flights, the Prime Minister asked the concerned authorities to formulate a plan of action for the repatriation of Pakistanis stranded abroad.

Sources said that in the initial phase, the flights would be operated only from the Gulf countries, and after the safe return of the stranded Pakistanis, they would be repatriated from other countries as well.

Unemployed and working people will be brought to the first phase, he added.

Emphasizing the importance of Pakistanis abroad, the Prime Minister said that they were close to his heart and he could not be alone in such stressful times.

He said that millions of Pakistanis living abroad have lost their jobs due to the Coronavirus epidemic.

The Prime Minister assured the Cabinet that the Government of Pakistan would extend all possible assistance to the Pakistanis.

According to sources, Bukhari said that about two lakh Pakistanis have become unemployed.

We need time to stand with them and help them in any way we can, ”Bukhari said, adding that an NCOC meeting should be convened to look into the matter.
