On Saturday, US President Donald Trump said he would announce new visa restrictions within a few days to prevent the entry of some foreign workers and to fight the COVID-19 epidemic in the job market to help save American jobs.
Speaking to an international news channel, Trump said,
'We are announcing something on visas tomorrow or the next day.'
'You need them for big businesses where they have some special people who have been coming for a long time but have very low emissions and they are very tight and maybe we will have them for a while. Be very tight,' he added,
Trump declined to provide further details on the visa ban as he will announce it soon.
Many critics say Trump is using the epidemic as an excuse to achieve his long-standing goal of restricting immigration to the United States. His tough stance on immigration is central to his campaign because he is running for re-election.
In April, it ordered the temporary blockade of some foreigners residing in the United States permanently.
