Renowned Islamic Scholar Allama Talib Johri Passes Away

Renowned Islamic scholar Allama Talib Johari passed away in Karachi late Sunday night, his son Riaz Johari confirmed on Monday.

The well-known cleric had been undergoing treatment at a private hospital for several days and was on a ventilator. He had a heart condition. Confirming his death, Riaz Johri said that his body had been shifted to Acholi Imambargah.

Famous for his powerful statements, Allama Johari was not only a religious scholar but also a poet, historian, and philosopher. He authored several books.
Allama Johari was born on August 27, 1938, in Patna, British India. According to media reports, his father, Maulana Muhammad Mustafa Johar, was a distinguished scholar and Urdu poet was known for his extraordinary poetry.

Allama Johari studied Islamic theology in Najaf, Iraq, under the tutelage of Grand Ayatollah Syed Abu Al-Qasim Al-Khoi and the late Ayatollah Syed Baqir Al-Sadr. He was also awarded Sitara-e-Imtiaz by the government of Pakistan.

Various political and religious personalities have expressed deep sorrow and grief over the demise of Allama Johari.

Prime Minister Imran Khan conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family and paid rich tributes to the late Alam. He expressed sorrow over the demise of Allama Johari and condolences to his family.
Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafari, central secretary-general of the Majlis-e-Wahdat Muslimeen Pakistan (MWMP), said the country had lost a great religious scholar. "His scholarly services will never be forgotten," Jafari said in a statement, adding that the late Allama Johari had spent his entire life promoting sectarian harmony.
