Bollywood superstar film actor Rishi Kapoor dies of cancer at age 67

Bollywood superstar and film actor Rishi Kapoor, famous for his romantic roles, has died of cancer at the age of 67.

He was part of the Kapoor Abhinaya dynasty, which has long dominated the Bollywood, Hindi film industry.

The actor made a big splash in 1973 with his first lead role in Bobby - Ek Kishore Prem Kahani.

He played the romantic lead in dozens of films over two decades, after which he made a successful change in character roles.

Rishi Kapoor made his debut as a child artist in his father Raj Kapoor's film Mera Naam Joker in 1970.

Many of his films in the 1980s and 90s - Khel Khiladi Mein, Karaj and Chandni - became tremendous hits at the box office.

He was a prolific dancer and some of his films had songs that are still widely popular today.

Kapoor made a successful on-screen pairing with actress Neetu Singh. In one of Bollywood's most enduring love stories, they put that romance on screen and also got married in 1980.

His son, Ranbir Kapoor, is a successful Bollywood star in his own right.

Rishi Kapoor also acted in several big films with Amitabh Bachchan and his uncle Shashi Kapoor.

His second role in this decade was to do character roles and appear in some interesting cameos in short films.

The day after the death of Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan, he lost his battle with cancer.

Kapoor was diagnosed with leukemia in 2018 and returned to India in September last year after a year-long course of treatment in New York.

He was rushed to the hospital on Wednesday morning after complaining of breathlessness, his brother Randhir Kapoor told the Press Trust of India.


The actor's family confirmed his death in a message saying that his life ended peacefully.

The doctors and medical staff at the hospital said they entertained him last. He stayed in Joinville and was determined to live fully through two years of treatment in two continents. Family, friends, food and movies were his focus and all But whoever met her during this time, he was taken aback by how she did not let her illness get better than her.

He was grateful for the love of his fans who came from all over the world. In his demise, they will all understand that he likes to be remembered with a smile and not with tears.

The family also appealed to their fans and friends to follow the ban on coronaviruses being gathered in public due to the lockout and respect the laws that are in force.

Meanwhile, on social media, tributes are being paid to Kapoor from his fellow Bollywood actors and politicians.

Amitabh Bachchan, who acted in several hit films with Kapoor, tweeted: "He is gone Rishi Kapoor Gaya just passed away I am destroyed!"

Prime Minister Narendra Modi described her as "multi-faceted, beloved and vibrant" and a "powerhouse of talent."

'I will always remember his conversation on social media as well. He was passionate about films and the progress of India. devastated by his demise,' he said.

Congress party leader Rahul Gandhi also tweeted about his death: 'This is a terrible week for Indian cinema, with the demise of another legend, actor Rishi Kapoor. An amazing actor, a huge fan following from generation to generation Together, he will be sorely missed. '

Kapoor himself was also prolific on Twitter, often commenting on controversial issues and occasionally having heated exchanges with people on social media platforms.

His last tweet was an appeal to people not to attack the medical staff on the front of the fight against the coronavirus, "We have to win this war
