The letter said that technology companies are helping local authorities in the country to spread information about coronaviruses through information panels and alerts. Online platforms are combating misinformation and online abuse, showing official sources in the top results. 'We will continue the video quickly ... which discourages people from seeking medical treatment or for the health benefits of harmful substances,' the letter reads.

The tech giant has also produced other learning resources for children and professionals.

The letter stated that Google was also publishing a community mobility report using data collected through Google Maps. 'We hope the report on the movement can help public health officials in Pakistan, and governments respond to coronavirus elsewhere,' it said.

The letter offered cooperation with the Pakistani government in creating a "credible and globally consistent digital policy and regulatory framework".

In January this year, Prime Minister Imran met the CEO of YouTube at the 50th World Economic Forum annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland.

The two leaders discussed the use of digital platforms to create a Pakistan image. The Pakistani team also discussed the possibilities of promoting tourism, education, and attracting investment through digital platforms.
