In Islamabad, Justice of the Peace summoned American blogger Cynthia Richie on June 9 along with officials from the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority and the Federal Investigation Agency's cybercrime wing.
The summons was issued in connection with the ongoing feud between the PPP and Richie, which appears to have started with her "blasphemous words" against Benazir Bhutto, but the blogger's claim The "dirt" in the party.
PPP Islamabad President Shakeel Abbasi while talking to media outlets said that after the FIA did not register a case against the late PPP leader Rehman Malik, the Sessions Judge was approached.
'Cynthia Richie, the FIA and the SSP of Islamabad have been summoned at my request under Section 22-A [Criminal Code of Conduct],' he said.
According to the CRPC, the Justice of the Peace is a District and Sessions Judge or an Additional District and Sessions Judge nominated by the former has been assigned the additional task of maintaining peace in the area.
The judge will investigate the matter "upon receipt of a report of a breach of peace or any incident of the commission of a crime in a local area."
Its powers extend to handling complaints, making recommendations to criminal police officers on the registration of criminal cases, and transferring investigations from one officer to another.
The other opposition party, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), has not disclosed its position and fears it could be the next target of Cynthia's plan to expose the opposition.
She also promised to expose the PML-N. She clarified that it was not only PPP leaders who were involved in the sexual exploitation of women.
