Lahore Grammer School 1A1 students have accused famous Pakistani actor Omair Rana who recently starred in the drama serial Piare of sexual harassment.
The Lahore Grammar School scandal has caught everyone's attention on social media. Many female students came forward who had been sexually harassed by various LGS 1A1 male teachers. Although the school administration has fired the perpetrators, a new yet popular name has emerged among the harassers Pakistani actor Omair Rana.
Among many other celebrities, Osman Khalid Butt also praised the girls who spoke out against the harassment. In response to Butt's tweet, a girl wrote,
"Sir, I remembered your name: Umair Rana. He used to teach drama in LGS 1A1. Many people have come forward with their painful experiences with it. Attaching screenshots below. "
Several students also accused the actor's wife, Maira Umair Rana, who works in LGS's admin office. One student admitted that whenever the girls complained to her, she kept accusing and scolding the girls about their 'revealing dress'. she also advised the victims that they should not come to her to complain about their grievances.
The stories shared by the students had caused outrage among the people on social media and the administration was asked to investigate the matter after which the four accused teachers were suspended by LGS 1A1.
Authorities are urged to take serious steps in this regard and set an example for others who are quietly committing shameful acts.
