Legendary Pakistani TV host Tariq Aziz passed away in Lahore.
He was born in 1936. Tariq Aziz received his early education from Radio Pakistan, Lahore in Jalandhar before starting his career. When Pakistan started its first television broadcasts from Lahore in November 1964, the first male PTV announcer was Aziz. He was the first person to be seen on Pakistan Television (PTV).
Tariq Aziz worked with film actor Waheed Murad and actress Zeba in a Pakistani film "Insaniyat (1967)".
He also acted in another Pakistani film "Har Gaya Insan". Aziz has appeared in several local television programs and morning shows. He has also set up a telephone for charitable purposes.
Tariq Aziz also acted in supporting roles in several Pakistani films in the late 1960s and 1970s. One of his most famous films was Salgera (1969), a hugely successful musical movie that won two awards this year.
He was one of the first TV anchors to achieve commercial success using the platform of Quiz Show Neelam Ghar / Tariq Aziz Show. In his shows, he interviewed many notable intellectuals, sports personalities and celebrities.
