After keeping quiet for a few weeks, superstar Nawaz-ud-Din Siddiqui strikes back at his former wife Alia by issuing legal notices for defamation.
Alia had sent a divorce letter to Nawaz-ud-Din on May 7. In response, Nawaz-ud-Din has alleged in his notice that, according to the Times of India, she was involved in fraud, deliberate and planned defamation."
Nawaz-ud-Din claims that he had replied to Alia's divorce papers on May 19 within 15 days. In addition, she complained that she was unable to pay her children's school fees because the actor had stopped her monthly contribution.
Nawaz-ud-Din's lawyer, Adnan Sheikh, reacted to the allegations. He was quoted in the publication as saying, "EMI is still being paid by my client. Expenses related to other children are also being paid. Contrary to what has been said about defamation through a thought-provoking slander campaign.
The notice also asked Alia to clarify the claims made in her interviews. She has also been asked to refrain from making any other defamatory remarks against the actor.
