Prime Minister Imran Khan to Personally Monitor SOP Adherence and Violators to be 'Locked up'

Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday vowed to take punitive measures against those who violate the security protocol enacted to protect against the coronavirus, saying they would be 'locked up'.

The Prime Minister said, "I will take stock of the situation across the country in terms of standard operating procedures from the Prime Minister's Office.

"I have information from Punjab and Sindh about compliance with SOPs. I know about mosques, courts, government offices, parks, industries, shopping malls, shops, local transport and inter-city travel, and private transport.

"I will get a daily report," he said. He issued a strict warning to those violating the rules.

The prime minister said it was a national duty to abide by safety rules in order to save lives.

It should be noted that the number of cases of coronavirus in Pakistan has reached 113,702 while the total number of deaths due to this contagious epidemic has reached 2,255. With more than 4,600 cases recorded in a single day, the number of coronaviruses in Pakistan continues to rise.
