US blogger Cynthia Ritchie has sent a legal notice of Rs 120 million to former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, threatening to take legal action against him unless he apologizes.
Richie sent the notice through her lawyer, Nasir Azeem Khan, in which she said that Gilani had harassed her and damaged his reputation by making false allegations.
She alleged that the former prime minister had harassed her with his collusion with former interior minister Rehman Malik 2011. The legal notice alleges that the PPP's media cell has also harassed Richie on social media.
Stating that she has been discredited locally and internationally, the American blogger demanded that Gilani apologize to her. Richie warned that if the PPP leader did not apologize for the charges against him within 14 days, she would take legal action against him.
Richie made headlines when she accused former Interior Minister Rehman Malik of abusing her in 2011 during a video broadcast live on Facebook.
she accused then-Health Minister Makhdoom Shahabuddin of touch her inappropriately and receiving a strange hug from Gilani, saying the incidents took place in 2011 when the PPP was in power.
Gilani had sent a defamation notice of Rs 100 million to Richie after she went public with allegations against him. The legal notice was sent to the American citizen by Gilani's lawyers who asked her to respond within 14 days.
Malik, Gilani, and Shahabuddin have categorically denied Richie's allegations.
